When working with us on your aerial photography project, you can count on us to take care of logistics, planning and execution- we will also bring new, innovative ideas to the table! There is no need to worry about breaking the law as we are professionals that can offer advice on the legal side of every project. We use pre-shoot risk assessment to ensure the overall safety of the shoot, and legal adherence to prevailing laws in the local area.
If you’d like professional input on any ideas you might have in mind, please give us a call. On all projects, we will send a two-man team equipped with the modern photography equipment needed to ensure stunning images. Before any aerial photography flights, we make sure the weather is ok. When we are unconvinced, we will reschedule the session for a later date without any extra charge. If we can’t reschedule, we will offer a full refund.
Stunning Aerial Photography
Aerial images are no longer solely for big-budget productions. The versatility afforded with drone technology allows for high quality photography with an affordable price and portable kit.

What does aerial/drone photography entail?
In the not too distant past, a costly filming crew in a helicopter was the only viable way to get quality aerial shots of locations and events. This meant that only well-funded TV and film companies were able to afford aerial shoots.
You can enjoy the same aerial shots as the biggest film studios without paying over the odds thanks to small, high-quality-camera drones that are available today! The aerial view presented by a drone can give an interesting take for any setting.
To make sure the perfect shot is captured, our professional drone photographers work in twos, with one person controlling the drone and the other controlling the camera, thus ensuring the perfect shots can be captured.
The possibilities for aerial filming and photography are endless, from filming a sports event or gala, to adding something unique to a festivity or heritage video – the sky really is the limit!
The AIM aerial photography equipment
DJI manufactured drones are what we use most of the time here at AIM. With the 4K UHD camera on the Inspire 1, we are able to deliver dramatic shots at every turn. We are also able to cover every possible angle with the Inspire 1 as a result of the 360-degree gimble in place, which ensures camera stability.
We are able to deliver great shots on all still or video shoots due to the excellent features of the Inspire. The compact and durable Mavic Pro is another camera we use in addition to the Inspire 1. This also has 4k enabled camera and can be used to capture incredible stills and video. Vertical pan shots are easy on this drone due to the gimble.
The Mavic comes in handy in tricky areas where the larger Inspire may not be able to perform well, thanks to its lightweight frame and portability. Both drones are capable of approximately 20 minutes of flight time with one battery and we have as many back up batteries as needed to ensure we get your shots. For smooth handheld shots, we bring the Sony A7 camera with a quality gimble to make sure we do not miss out on anything during the shoot.

In which scenarios is aerial photography required?
There is a nearly limitless number of applications for aerial photography, including forestry surveying, building surveys, cartography, real estate, film and TV, sporting events, and celebrations or events, particularly weddings. There are so many uses for aerial photography that the limit is really your own imagination! One benefit of drone photography is that not only is it possible to gain images from a height, but it is also possible to achieve low down pictures as well.
A drone can be a good substitute for a steady-cam due to the stabilising nature of the camera gimbles used. Think of all the camera shots you see captured from interesting angles in television programmes, many of them are taken using drones which help to emphasise an object, give more character to a scene, or highlight a point of view.
Drone photography laws
The use and flying of commercial drones is governed by the Civil Aviation Authority. You can expect only the highest level of ethics and professionalism from Aerial Image Masters because we always maintain the limits specified by these laws.
The CAA state that a drone must: be within the VLOS (visual line of sight) of the pilot be at least 150 meters away from congested areas be no higher than 400ft above the surface and no further than 500 meters (1,640ft) from the pilot be no closer than 50 metres or be directly above of any persons, buildings, vessels, or automobiles no matter the height, except in cases where the pilot controls those variables. Forget about remembering every single rule because the laws are for us to apply as we do what we do.
You can rest assured we have sufficient experience in drone law and we can’t wait to talk about your needs for your projects and how best we can achieve the results you want.
Applications for drone photography and clients
The applications for drone aerial photography are endless. While we have included examples of projects we have worked on in the past, please let us know if there are any other projects you would like to complete:
